About JSON to CSV

Turn a JSON array of objects into a spreadsheet-ready CSV file.

🛠️
How to use it
  1. Paste a JSON array of objects into the input editor.
  2. Click Convert to CSV.
  3. Click Download to save the file, or copy the result directly.
💡
Tips & use cases
  • Works best with a flat array of objects that share the same keys - nested objects are converted to a JSON string within their cell.
  • Handy for turning an API response into a file you can open directly in Excel or Google Sheets.

Convert JSON to CSV Online

Paste a JSON array of objects and get a CSV table: each object becomes a row and each key becomes a column. The result opens directly in Excel, Google Sheets or any tool that imports CSV.

How JSON maps to CSV

  • Header row: the columns are every key found across all objects, in the order they first appear.
  • Rows: each object in the array becomes one row. A single object becomes a one-row table.
  • Missing and null values: a key that an object doesn't have, or whose value is null, becomes an empty cell.
  • Quoting: every value is wrapped in double quotes and inner quotes are doubled, so commas and line breaks inside values don't break the table.

JSON to CSV FAQ

How are nested objects and arrays handled?

CSV is flat, so a nested object or array is written as JSON text inside its cell. If you need separate columns, flatten the data first - for example by extracting the inner array with JSONPath.

What if the objects have different keys?

The converter uses the union of all keys as columns. Objects that lack a key simply get an empty cell in that column.

Can I open the CSV in Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. Download the file and open or import it. The file is UTF-8, so if accented characters look wrong in Excel, use Excel's Data > From Text/CSV import and choose UTF-8.

Is my data uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser.
